Do I lose ownership of my IPv4 addresses when leasing?

No. You retain 100% ownership of your IPv4 addresses. They remain registered to you in the RIR database (RIPE, ARIN, APNIC). TACS only manages usage rights — we authorize tenants to use your IPs temporarily. You can stop leasing anytime (30 days notice) and regain full control. You can also sell your IPs later if needed. Leasing is non-permanent and fully reversible.

What does TACS handle vs what do I need to do?

TACS handles 100%: finding tenants, KYC/AML verification, contracts, billing, payment collection, abuse management, blacklist monitoring, RPKI configuration, technical support 24/7. You only need to provide proof of ownership, sign a leasing agreement with TACS, and request payouts (we transfer to your bank). Leasing out IPv4 is completely passive income — no operational work required from you.

How long does it take to start earning income?

Typical onboarding takes 7–14 days. We verify your IPv4 ownership (1–2 days), check block reputation (1–2 days), match you with tenants from our marketplace (3–7 days), and configure routing/RPKI (1–2 days). Once tenants start using your IPs, you earn immediately. First payout request can be made 30 days after tenant activation (allows us to collect first month’s rent). Clean, well-maintained blocks with good reputation lease faster.

What if my IPv4 block is blacklisted or has reputation issues?

TACS checks your block against 50+ blacklist databases (Spamhaus, SORBS, etc.) during onboarding. If issues are found, we provide a free reputation cleanup plan. Cleaning typically takes 30–90 days. Clean blocks lease for $0.50–0.60/IP/month; blocks with issues lease for $0.30–0.40/IP/month (40% less). We recommend cleaning before leasing to maximize income. TACS also maintains reputation during leasing — if a tenant causes blacklisting, we remove them immediately and clean the IPs.

Can I stop leasing and take back my IPs anytime?

Yes. You can terminate the leasing agreement with 30 days notice. TACS will remove all tenants, de-configure routing, and return full control to you. You receive all earned income up to termination date. There are no exit fees or penalties. This flexibility is a key advantage of leasing vs selling — if you need the IPs back for your own use, or want to sell them later, you retain that option.

How are lease payments processed and when do I get paid?

Tenants pay TACS monthly for IPv4 usage. Payments go to your dedicated Stripe Connected Account (sub-account). You can request payouts anytime via the TACS portal. Funds transfer to your bank account in 2–3 business days. Minimum payout is $100. You receive transparent reporting: tenant names, IPs used, uptime, earnings per IP, service fees. We handle all collections — if a tenant doesn’t pay, they lose access immediately (you’re not affected).

What are the tax implications of leasing out IPv4 addresses?

Tax treatment depends on your jurisdiction. In most countries, IPv4 lease income is taxable as rental income or business income. TACS provides full transaction documentation (monthly statements, payout records, tenant details) for your tax filings. We do not withhold taxes — you’re responsible for reporting and paying taxes in your country. Consult a tax advisor familiar with intangible asset leasing. In some jurisdictions, leasing may have tax advantages vs selling (capital gains vs recurring income).
