BYOIP on Amazon Web Services
Bring a /24 or larger to Amazon EC2 and allocate Elastic IPs from it. AWS doesn't charge its hourly public IPv4 fee for BYOIP addresses.
What AWS requires
- Prefix size: /24 or larger for IPv4, /48 for publicly advertised IPv6.
- Registry: RIPE, ARIN or APNIC, registered to a company rather than a person.
- ROA that authorises Amazon's ASNs to originate the prefix.
- Proof of control: a self-signed X.509 certificate in the RDAP record, or a DNS TXT record through Amazon VPC IPAM.
- Quota: five BYOIP ranges per Region by default; more on request through AWS Support.
Where you can use it
Elastic IP addresses allocated from your pool work like any other Elastic IP in EC2. Global Accelerator has its own BYOIP process.
Not available in AWS China Regions, Wavelength Zones or on Outposts.
